Learn how to screen print 

What will you learn?
This is a beginners' workshop, to give you a general idea of how screen printing works and if this is a technique you would like to add to your creative skills. 

We will give you a brief introduction to the materials you will need and a demonstration of how how to use them. We will then hand you the squeegee. 

Who can take part?
Everybody over the age of 12. We may offer a workshop for kids at some point.

What is included?
We provide all the materials that you will need. If you would like to print your own single colour design, we will be happy to prepare a screen for you for an additional fee of $35. 
You are welcome to bring your own garment to print on, but we also offer a wide selection of styles and colors to choose from. 

Where?
At our workshop, 2282 Avenue du Mont-Royal east. It is fully equipped with 3 printing presses. 

When?
The workshops will take place only on Mondays, when the shop is closed to the public. Please book as early as possible to make sure that it will actually happen (if a minimum of 2 participants is not reached, the workshop will be cancelled for that day). 
The workshop will take approximately 3 hours. 

How large will the group be?
Our workshops will have a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 3 participants. 

What will you not learn?
When you flood the screen with ink at this workshop, you enter the screen printing process at a late stage. Much of the preliminary work (coating and exposing the screens, preparing the artwork etc.) and decisions (which mesh count, ink composition) have already been made for you. 
If you are interested in learning how to do everything from A-Z, this is also possible. However, since this varies from person to person (are you more interested in printing on garments or paper, using water based or plastisol, monochrome or multi-color?), it is much easier (and certainly more economic for you) to tailor an intensive course to your needs. Please send me a brief description of your ideas and needs and we can discuss details.
