Save the Pink House

A few years ago, I was asked if I ever considered making a t-shirt of the "pink house". "What is the pink house?", I replied. 
The humble shed, towering over the former Canada Malting factory, led a retired life after the factory closed its doors in the late 1980's, noticed only by cyclists along the Lachine canal or visitors of the nearby beer garden. 
It's fortunes changed literally overnight, after a hitherto unknown artist with remarkable audacity, climbing skills and a bucked of bright pink paint turned it into a pop icon of Montreal's skyline. This was in 2019. 
Seven years on, the city of Montreal issued permits for the last act:  A large scale housing project will soon replace the old factory, demolitions have started. 
The beloved pink spot is apparently destined to outlive its former foundations and crown the glitzy condominiums. This time, it may have to share the roof with a pool...
